FAMILY SHELTER INFORMATION

At Love and Light 888, we strive to be a guiding light in our community, connecting families experiencing homelessness with safe, supportive shelter options and resources. Our mission is to help parents and children find stability, security, and pathways to permanent housing with dignity and love.

Family Solutions Centers (also called Family Access Centers) are welcoming entry points in LA County's Coordinated Entry System (CES). They provide assessments, referrals to family shelters/emergency housing, basic needs (food, hygiene), case management, and connections to long-term support for families with minor children or pregnant adults.

What to Expect at a Family Solutions Center

- Initial CES Survey/assessment to understand your family's needs.

- Referrals to interim/family shelters, rapid rehousing, or permanent options.

- Emergency services (e.g., DV-related if needed).

- Basic necessities (food, showers, storage where available).

- Ongoing support and follow-up.

How to Access Family Shelter Support – Quick & Easy

1. Find your nearest Family Solutions Center: Download the full official LAHSA CES Access Center Directory (includes all Family Solutions Centers/Family Access Centers by SPA, with addresses, phones, hours, emails, and population notes):

[Download LAHSA CES Access Center Directory PDF (Updated 2026 Mirror)]

https://chirpla.org/hubfs/ces-access-center-directory.pdf

   (Or official LAHSA version: [https://www.lahsa.org/documents?id=2760-ces-access-center-directory.pdf](https://www.lahsa.org/documents?id=2760-ces-access-center-directory.pdf))

   - Search the PDF for "Family" or your SPA/city to spot options. Save for offline use.

2. Contact for intake/availability: Call or visit the center from the PDF list. Many are drop-in or call-in; staff help with assessment and referrals on the spot or by phone.

3. Start with 24/7 help: Dial 211 (or 800-399-6993) anytime—operators connect families to the nearest Family Solutions Center or shelter, confirm availability, and make referrals.

Important Tips & Verification

Always verify details directly, as hours, locations, and availability can change due to funding or demand. If you have a phone:

- Call the center first.

- Or dial 211 (24/7) for real-time help.

- Visit https://211.org/ to search online.

Bring ID, proof of family status (e.g., birth certificates for children), and any documents when possible. Services prioritize families with minors/pregnant adults.

Family shelters and Solutions Centers are a vital step toward safety and stability—many link to permanent housing paths. We're here to help connect you. Reach out anytime—you and your family deserve support.
